Durgadas Allon Duriel is an occultist, yogi, therapist, evolutionary astrologer, and Tarot enthusiast. For him, these disciplines are all dimensions of a timeless, sacred journey: to know thyself. His work with others aims to facilitate their understanding of, and connection with, themselves at deeper, more authentic levels.

Durgadas is a licensed clinical social worker with a master’s degree in social welfare from UCLA. He began studying astrology in 2005, attending a variety of astrology classes and workshops over the years and working in semi-apprenticeship with a professional astrologer from ‘05-‘07.He’s also a certified holistic health practitioner from Mueller College of Holistic Studies, a Reiki Two practitioner, and a coach, having completed Central New Mexico Community College’s financial coaching training.

Drawn to mysticism from childhood, Durgadas began participating in witchcraft and Goddess worship in elementary school (thanks, Captain Planet!). In 2005, he initiated into a Hermetic order that integrated Yogic philosophy and meditation with Kabbalah and occult ritual. He trained there intensively for 30 to 40 hours a week over the course of two-and-a-half years. Durgadas has maintained a daily practice of meditation, ritual, and study since then. He completed study of the Himalayan Academy’s Master Course material between 2007 and 2009, and has met a variety of spiritual teachers from around the world. Between 2011 and 2018, he traveled to India five times, as well as across the US and Europe, to learn from an Indian spiritual teacher who embraces seekers of all religious affiliations. She gave him his name, which means servant of Durga or servant of the Divine Mother in Her fierce aspect. Currently, Durgadas worships primarily with an eclectic coven of queer men and is working toward establishing an open, drop-in temple dedicated to the Divine Mother and the Mysteries. He is the author of the forthcoming book The Little Work: Magic to Transform Your Everyday Life, due from Llewellyn Worldwide in early 2020.
